Watched Heroes Last night

Watched Heroes last night, and it made me think of one of the earliest conclusions I reached when looking at the super hero genre.

Random supers leads to chaos, some organized force needs to exist to stop them. In the comics those organizations always someone find the bad guys, mostly because they do lots of damage, a good guy has ties to the new or police.

I took a different spin on things. In Hometown Heroes we have SPAT - which stands for Super Powered Assualt Teams. Groups of supers that work in a support position to local police, and eventually gain the ability to conduct their own investigations.

Although this lead to a number of acronyms SPUD (super powered undercover detectives) being the most likely suspect. But through the years of running heroes campaigns SPAT stuck, and so it does.

In the Hometown heroes world 1% of the population has powers, although only 10% of them fit the level of players of higher. The rest have one power - which may of may not be useful.

It will be interesting to watch the world turn to chaos (or will it) on Heroes - I do really enjoy that show.
